Ralph Anderson Home
Scope: After completing the interior finish specifications for this 4,600 SF West Seattle Ralph Anderson as a member of the Atelier Drome team, the clients called Kathryn to furnish the entire home as one of our first independent projects! We mixed custom pieces with trade exclusives as well as a few retail items to furnish the living, dining and sleeping spaces.
Programming: The goal was to create a cozy & livable yet elevated modern aesthetic suitable to both family life and entertaining. Cleanable upholstery fabrics, multi-function pieces and lasting quality were all critical considerations. An extendable dining table allows the space to flex between family meal time and large gatherings. Achieving a luxe feel that is totally livable is very doable with the right furniture pieces!
Style: The style for this home was a warm modern vibe that complimented the carefully updated midcentury architecture. We balanced natural materials like leather, concrete and wood with dark metal finishes for a "softer" modern feel. Then we selected textured neutral upholstery to to balance out the look & achieve the client’s desired feel. A custom green velvet settee brings the “outside in” against the expansive Puget Sound views in the great room.
